Just a small update

January 4th, 2008 (05:27 pm)

current mood: calm

How else would one start the New Year than going to a $5 all you can eat pizza bufet??  I mean I know I would.  Chris and I ventured to Cici's pizza today.  I always make fun of that place.  It just sounds gross....$5 all you can eat.  That can't be good.

Guess what, it was good!  Well, alright anyway.  The cinnamon rolls were freakin awesome.  I'd go pay five bucks just for those!  I don't think I'll be craving to go back there, but I won't make fun of it anymore.  It wasn't half bad.

In great news James is coming back to Orlando!  He moved to Colorado for about a year now,  but he's coming back.  This makes me super happy.  I love James!  And I know Chris will be happy about it.

We had New Years here.  It was fun.  I know I had a good time.  Tedder came over from St. Augustine and Scarlett and Amanda dropped by.  Most of Chris's buddies came by and Tracy was here.  I really had a great time and I'm so happy everyone came over.  It started out slow and I was nervous no one would come but later on in the night they all came over and it was good ole NYE fun.  I just wish that all my friends from Chicago could have come down....maybe next year.

Ok.  I'm done for now.

Serve and Protect......My Ass!!!!!

pissed off

current mood: pissed off

So, Chris and I were both off this morning.  We went to the mall and then were driving to Smokey Bones to eat lunch.  We were driving on John Young and had to turn left onto Sandlake.  Ok.  So you know when the cars back up just to the end of the turn lane so you can't get in it?  So instead of waiting there and missing the turn light, you go around the car in front of you...even though the two drivers side tires may go up on the median or in this case, roll over the grassy area that splits traffic.

Well, apparently there was a cop sitting on the side of the road and he thought that manuver provided him justifiable grounds to pull Chris over and give him a ticket for "Not driving in a designated lane"

PS that ticket is $118 and 3 points on your driving record.

Can we say Bullshit?  Are you freaking kidding me?!  I wonder if Officer Garcia realized that if he would have gone over to the next cross street, he could have busted about 3 chicks who were leaving the Waffle House for prostitution.  Un-freaking-believable.

And he was condesending as hell about it.

PO:  "Do you know why I pulled you over?"

Chris: "Uh.....No, officer I do not."

PO:  "Why didn't you pull over in that median I was pointing to?  Didn't you see me pointing?"

Chris's Thoughts: "Well, yes, I did see you pointing, but there was an entire lane of traffic also waiting to turn left next to me seeing as it was a double turn lane.  Last I checked I couldn't magicly go through other vehicles."

Chris actually said: "Well, I wasn't sure what you were pointing to.  Sorry."

PO: "Well, I pulled you over for driving on the grass.  Don't you know you can't just drive on the grass if you feel like it."

Chris: "I wasn't driving on the grass."

PO: "Yes you were, your car partly went onto the grass as you were going into the turn lane.  And that is not driving in designated lanes."

I hope that man gets fired or something just as bad.  What an asshole.  Like there wasn't something better he could have done with his time.  Thanks for ruining the whole afternoon Officer Garcia.

A letter.....long overdue!

October 1st, 2007 (06:24 pm)

current mood: irritated

 Dear hair,

I'm sorry to say this, but, you are really driving me insane.  I've tried everything I can to enhance the natural waves in you, but I just cannot control them!  Anti-frizz this and Anti-frizz that....no matter what it says, it doesn't help.  I'm beggining to think there is no hope.  I'm doomed to a life with frizzy hair that sometimes curls and sometimes doesn't.

I'm sure the John Frieda company would thank you for the money I have, more or less, donated to them, seeing as their products have not done anything to tame you.  There are a number of other companies that I'm sure are pleased with you too, however, there are too many to name.

Please know that this war is not over.  One day I will conqure you.  I will find the perfect combination of ridiculously expensive products to turn you into frizz-less, managable hair.  Until that day, you should know how lucky you have it.  I have never treated you with any chemicals and have rarely pointed a blowdryer your way.  I would have hoped you would reward me for such kindness and care.

Your Caretaker,

current mood: anxious
current song: A Day in the Life - The Beatles

So, I just finished filling out the Survivor Application.  I have always wanted to be on Survivor and have actually printed off and filled out the application several times.  I've just never sent it in or made a video.  Honestly, I don't know if I can or could physically handle it.  Sitting at home from the comfort of my couch I can talk a lot of shit, but actually being out there....I'm not so sure.

Friday there is an open casting call at the Convention Center.  It is from 10:30 - 3:00.  I work till 11:30 and then I don't have to be back until 3:30.  I'm hoping that showing up late won't matter too much....but we'll see.  I'm also hoping that by auditioning live I won't have to provide a video....but with my luck that won't be the case.  We'll just have to see.

How crazy is that idea anyway.  And if I do have to provide a video despite and live interview, I'll need some ideas.  Not that anyone reads this anyway, but you know, it doesn't hurt to throw it out there.

Chris's Birthday

September 21st, 2007 (02:49 pm)

current mood: content
current song: The Cubs Game

Chris celebrated his birthday yesterday.  And as the wonderful girlfriend I am, I took him out to dinner.  Emerils Tchoup Chop at the Pacific Royal Hotel at Universal.  It was actually pretty good.  I would go back again.  I was very tempted however, just to take him to the Brazillian Steak House again this year, because Ladies and Gentlemen, that is some good stuff!  How can you not like a place that just keeps bringing you unbelievably wonderful pieces of meat until you say stop!?  Brilliant.

But, back to dinner last night.  "The fat man" as Chris likes to refer to him as, has a pretty nice dining establishment.  But no doubt, the desert was the best.  Who wouldn't like a bittersweet chocolate covered chocolate cake filled with essentially peanut butter fudge, topped with a banana's foster sauce, fresh made whipped cream and a freakin strawberry on top.  I should have just ordered my appetizer and 2 of those and it would have been pretty much heaven!

Also, being the wonderful person I am, I got Chris a very nice present.  A deep fryer.  Who wouldn't want a deep fryer for their birthday?!  I see a trend developing here though...One Christmas I got him a milk shake machine, last Christmas I got him a Turkey Fryer and now a deep fryer.  At this rate we're going to have to remodel the back room as an additon to the kitchen.

All in all I think he had a good time last night.  I was going to take him to the Rams/Bucs game but he told me he didn't want to go because the Rams suck.  Alright, fine.  I didn't really want to drive to Tampa anyway.  Besides that Pirate ship is a bit too Disney like for my taste.

So...I need NEED to be on a diet.  I've been trying...not too hard, but I've definatly changed some eating habits lately and still.....nothing.  I guess it's time to add some real exercise to my life and not count walking the dog a mile a day anymore.

God getting older sucks.

One of those TV kinda days

September 2nd, 2007 (07:14 pm)

current location: home
current mood: blank
current song: Paradise Hotel.....quality TV!

I was going to go to Target today.  It's now 7:15 and I have yet to change out of my PJ's.  Chris and I did go to the ATM this morning, but I didn't need to change or get out of the car so....yeah.

The Cubs won.  Woo!  I watched most of Gone with the Wind today.  No, actually it was only 1/2 cause I turned it on after the war had ended and they were back at Tara.  Pa was just about to die.  Chris only had two comments for me.  One was this is an F-ed up movie and the other was Hey!  That's the Great Movie Ride music.  Uh...no.  It is Gone with the Wind music and they used it in The Great Movie Ride.  Thanks for playing though.

And then on the Fox Reality Chanel they have a marathon of Paradise Hotel on.  I never watched it before and let me tell you...it's shit.  Really, it sucks.  Oh and then the TV Guide Channel had on a One Year Remember the Crock Hunter Special.....wow.  Tears.  Can you believe it's been a year.  I cried.

College Football has started and now life is over.  At least on Saturday's.  But at least I know I'll get tailgate food once a week.  That's good stuff.  One good reason to love College Football season.

Maybe I'll make it to Target tomorrow.

Just for kicks

August 31st, 2007 (02:25 pm)

current location: home
current mood: mellow
current song: I'm watching Cold Case Files

I'm totally weirded out by this new schedule I have at work.  Really.  I just am not dealing with Friday afternoon's off.  I mean, I teach in the morning and the afterschool class but not in the mid afternoon and well, I'm just feeling....non productive.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll get used to it.  It is nice in a way.   And I'm sure Harry the Dog is happy about it.  Plus...I get to watch Cold Case Files.  Chirs is worried that I'm gathering all this information from these shows (American Justice, CSI Miami, etc.) and one day I'll use it against him.

Well, if he's going to cut my honeymoon short because of College Freaking Football I just might!

Speaking of honeymoons, I still want to go to Greenland.  I guess Alaska isn't out of the question either, I just really have it in my head now to see the Northern Lights.  I'll be so sad if I don't get to.  My friend Adam gave me the idea of Egypt though.  That could be cool.  Apparently the USD is pretty good over there right now.  So maybe that could work.  We'll have to see.  Any good ideas...let me know!

We've booked a place for the wedding now.  So that's done.  My DJ is also available and that makes me happy.  I was nervous he'd be booked already.  The wedding is going to be one year from today.  Just to document for myself...today I worked at FasTrack, went to meet Chris for lunch at Whataburger, talked to Sherry on the phone, sat at home and watched A&E for 2 hours and then am going back to work.  A year from now....my day will be a little bit different.  Let's hope it'll be a good one!

Honeymoon thoughts

August 26th, 2007 (08:30 pm)

current mood: thoughtful

So, I've been thinking about fun things to do with the wedding lately....like the honeymoon.  I know I want to go somewhere up north.  Originally I was thinking Canada...and I still think that's a possibility.  More so because the newest idea I have probably isn't....due to cost.

I want to go to Greenland.

As my mom said.....what is wrong with you?!?  Nothing!  That's the answer.  I live in Florida, first off. It's tropical.  It's hot.  I can get a tan at least 10 months out of the year if I chose to.  I don't need to go to somewhere tropical.  Don't get me wrong....I would love to go to Hawaii or Jamaica or Aruba.....but for my honeymoon.....I just want to go somehwere....different.

And the far ends of the earth have always intised ( I'm sure that is spelled wrong) me more than anywhere else.  Before I ever go to those Equator vacation destinations I would much rather visit the Yukon, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, The North and South Poles.  It's so freaking interesting and....different.

So, here's the problem.  How do I get there and how much will it cost?  I found some cruises...but most of them cost some pretty big bucks.  Not to mention that they only go through the summer months.  Meaning...Sept. is out!

And that is when I want to go.  Even more now that I know that Sept. is the month of the Northern Lights.  How freaking awesome would that be...especially for a honeymoon?!?!?!

That's all.  It just on my mind and I wanted to share.
